"This is a call to action, and we will not be ignored," Kivumbi emphasized. "We urge the government to prioritize the needs of Buganda, particularly in the upcoming 2025/2026 budget."

During a closed meeting on Friday, the Caucus discussed pressing issues affecting the region, including the recent devastation caused by a heavy storm in Kalangala.

Kivumbi appealed to the government to speed up the process of extending support to affected persons in the area.

The Caucus also commended the efforts of the Kabaka in fostering unity and development amongst the people of Buganda. Ahead of the Kabaka run scheduled for next month, the legislators encouraged their voters to participate in this historical event.

To amplify their voice, the Caucus has established a non-partisan task force committee responsible for enacting policies that will help legislators from Buganda lobby for their people's interests.

As Kivumbi noted, "We must have a common voice to demand our fair share and address the challenges facing our region."
