Mayiga urges Church to prioritise inclusive development

The Katikkiro of Buganda, Charles Peter Mayiga, has called on the Anglican Church to intensify efforts toward inclusive development to improve people’s lives.

He made the remarks during a meeting with Anglican Church leaders, including Bishop Anthony Mambo of Nakuru, Kenya, and bishop of Namirembe Diocese Rt Rev Moses Banja of Namirembe, Uganda.

The meeting, held at Bulange, Mengo, focused on the Church’s contributions to societal welfare, particularly in health, education, and other community services.

The Katikkiro acknowledged the significant role religious institutions play in community development and urged them to expand their efforts in addressing social and economic challenges.
