Nurses, and midwives in Iganga ask government for basics in health facilities to enable proper services
The thanksgiving attracted several religious leaders from various denominations, who commended the institute director for the efforts in ensuring good performance and prioritizing thanksgiving whenever they achieved any milestone.

The Nurses and midwives have asked the government of the Republic of Uganda to provide basics in health facilities to enable proper services to the people who seek medication in government health facilities.

The medical personnel says they are sometimes limited in offering support of treatment to their clients due absence of drugs and other assortments in the health centers and this complicates people’s health conditions and eventually death.

This was revealed by finalists of Lubega Institute of Nursing and Health Professionals (LINHP) at Busei village in Iganga district during the thanksgiving organized by the institute to appreciate God for the students who passed overwhelmingly in the previous examinations.

“I ask the government to provide enough drugs to health facilities and also ensure proper monitoring of the health sector to fight the habits by some medical officers who steal drugs intended to health our people,” Dorothy Nsooli, a nurse said.

Ms. Mariam Nakangu and Ms.Nasabu Nakaziba, a lab technician commended the tutors and parents for supporting them in the journey of education and pledged to offer the best in serving the community.

Speaking to Nile Post, the proprietor of the institute who doubles as the Chairman of Uganda Muslim Supreme Council and First deputy premier of Busoga Kingdom Prof. Dr. Lubega Muhamadi Kisambira appreciated the students for their good performance and also rewarded the 26 best performers with 200,000/= each.

“I want you to take your training seriously as you move away. I encourage others to read your books because you came here for a season and for a reason, you have one life to live and don’t experiment on it. You don’t need to be a lab specimen and later be dumped,” Dr. Lubega said, adding they based on prayers to get powers and wisdom to beat the enemy.

The coordinator of Hijja in Iganga district and extra Sheikh Abdullah Yusuf Mayaye condemned the people who don’t want to thank Allah whenever they achieve good things. “The problem is that people don’t want to thank Allah. The treasury of Allah is with abundance every time you thank Him,” Sheikh Mayaye said.

The Academic registrar of the institute Mr. Charles Omoit said the students who sat exams were 610 and 95% passed with good grades, awaiting graduation of students in May this year.

The PRO of the institute Mr. Charles Wambi commended the executive director for the support to enable them to produce the best out of students.
