Minister Magezi Commends Kaliisa for Driving Parish Development Model

The Minister of Local Government, Raphael Magezi, has praised Jovline Kaliisa Kyomukama, the Deputy National Coordinator of the Parish Development Model (PDM), for her dedication to ensuring the project's success nationwide.

Speaking on Saturday at the funeral of Kaliisa’s father, John Patrick Kaliisa, in Nyakatokye Ward, Kagongo Division, Ibanda Municipality, Magezi highlighted her role in making the PDM initiative impactful.

“Kaliisa has played a pivotal role in the implementation of the PDM project by ensuring it is helpful to the intended beneficiaries,” he told mourners.

He further commended her commitment to fighting corruption, noting her efforts in holding accountable those attempting to misuse project funds.

“She has worked tirelessly to fight corruption by arresting the greedy individuals who try to misuse the funds meant for the people,” Magezi stated.

Kaliisa, who served as the Ibanda District Woman MP from 2016 to 2021, has declared her intention to run for the seat again in the 2026 general elections.

She previously held the position before being succeeded by Hon. Jane Bainomugisha in 2021.

As the 2026 elections approach, her track record in community development and governance positions her as a strong contender in the race.
