Inspector General of Police Abas Byakagaba has expressed gratitude to H.E. Edward Kiwanuka Ssekandi, the President’s Special Envoy on Political Matters, for donating two hectares of land in Kyanamukaka, Masaka City.

Byakagaba conveyed his appreciation during a courtesy visit to Ssekandi’s office at Kingdom Mall, Kampala.

“I am deeply thankful for your generosity,” Byakagaba said. “This land donation will significantly support our efforts to improve the working conditions of police officers.”

The land will be used for constructing police administration offices and accommodation facilities, a development expected to boost officers’ morale and enhance service delivery.

Since his appointment as Inspector General of Police in May 2024, Byakagaba has been working to reform the force and strengthen its relationship with the community. His visit to Ssekandi underscores his commitment to fostering partnerships that support police operations.

“We remain dedicated to serving the community with professionalism and integrity,” Byakagaba said. “Support from stakeholders like H.E. Ssekandi helps us achieve our objectives.”
