Ibanda Municipality Clerk Urges Patience amid Road Upgrades Concerns

Residents of Ibanda Municipality have been urged to exercise patience as ongoing road grading and widening works continue to improve the area’s infrastructure.
This comes in response to concerns raised by some residents about the impact of road expansion on their properties and daily activities.
The municipality launched its road upgrades in mid-February as part of a major transformation under the Uganda Support to Municipal Infrastructure Development (USMID) program.
Town Clerk Hajji Authman Ssebaduka acknowledged that while road works may cause inconvenience, such challenges are common in development projects.
“We understand that road works may cause some inconvenience, but development comes with such challenges,” Ssebaduka stated.
“We ask residents to be patient because these improvements will ultimately benefit the entire community,” he added in an interview with Nile Post.
He reassured the public that the municipality is working closely with key service providers, including the National Water and Sewerage Corporation (NWSC) and Umeme, to ensure that essential services, such as water and electricity, are integrated into the road upgrades.
“Our collaboration with these organizations will guarantee that residents not only get better roads but also improved water and electricity services,” Ssebaduka explained.
The Town Clerk also encouraged residents to visit municipal offices for any clarification regarding the road projects.
“We are open to dialogue. If residents have concerns, they should not hesitate to seek information from the responsible offices,” he emphasized.
The road grading project is part of the broader efforts by the municipal council to enhance service delivery and infrastructure, with the aim of improving mobility and stimulating economic development in the region.
