Hoima District Chairman Highlights Nine Priority Roads for Maintenance

Hoima District Chairman Uthuman Mugisha has identified nine key roads set for maintenance to improve accessibility, particularly to markets and essential services.
In a message shared on social media, Mugisha emphasized the urgent need to upgrade the district’s road network, which remains predominantly marram, with only a few highways tarmacked.
Despite being close to Hoima City, the district continues to grapple with poor road infrastructure.
As the planting season approaches and with elections on the horizon, Mugisha announced that mechanized maintenance has begun on several roads, including Kikumba to Kyabasigazi, Kamugembe to Kwatamwana, Kigorobya to Kibiro, Kyakakoizi to Aliwara to Marongo up to Hanga, and resettlement roads in Buseruka.
Others slated for maintenance are Bulindi to Nyaitma to Buraru, Nyakabaale to Kigona, and Butema to Kyohairwe.
"Our top priority is to improve the accessibility of our community and district, making it easier for them to reach markets, healthcare facilities, schools, and all other services," Mugisha stated.
The move is expected to enhance transportation and economic activities in the district, but residents remain keen to see if the promised roadworks will be completed as planned.
