Namatovu becomes first female winner of Islamic Competition dubbed Omumanyi wa Salam TV

On March 9, 2025 - In an exciting finale, Hadiyyah Namatovu emerged as the winner of the 5th edition of the Omumanyi wa Salam TV campaign, breaking a four-year streak of male winners. The grand finale, held at Fairway Hotel Kampala, was attended by dignitaries, including Next Media Group CEO, Dr. Kin Kariisa, Hajjat Sharifah Buzeki, Executive Director of Kampala Capital City Authority, among Others.
Hadiyyah Namatovu, a brilliant and dedicated participant, showcased exceptional Islamic and general knowledge, earning her the prestigious title of Omumanyi wa Salam TV. She was awarded a fully funded Hijja pilgrimage to Makkah and Madinah, courtesy of Muzaata Hijja and Umrah Services.

The Omumanyi wa Salam TV campaign, now in its fifth year, aims to promote knowledge, critical thinking, and faith among Muslim youth. Over 50 participants registered for the competition, with four finalists competing in the grand finale. Lutaaya Huzairu, Kakomi Farooq, and Bulobe Muhammad Harunah were the runners-up, receiving generous prizes, including land titles, TV sets, mattresses, and more.
Dr. Kin Kariisa, CEO of Next Media Group, expressed his delight at the success of the campaign, announcing a special gift to the winner through Hajji Karim Kaliisa. He also thanked the valued sponsors of Omumanyi wa Salam TV, emphasizing the importance of partnerships in driving meaningful impact and success.
