Being CDF is the Best Job in the World!” – Muhoozi

General Muhoozi Kainerugaba, the Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) of the Uganda People’s Defence Forces (UPDF), has expressed his enthusiasm for the role, calling it “exhilarating, thrilling, and exciting! It’s the best job in the world without a doubt!”
In a recent post on X, Gen. Kainerugaba shared his appreciation for leading the nation’s military. “How does it feel to be CDF of UPDF?” he rhetorically asked, before emphatically expressing his positive sentiments.
Reflecting on his personal philosophy, he referenced a past reading that ranked soldiering as the second-best vocation for a man, after priesthood.
“A long time ago, I read somewhere that being a soldier is the second-best thing a man can do. The best is to be a priest—dedicating one’s life entirely to Almighty God, forsaking all women, and focusing only on Him. When I heard about the women issue, I knew I couldn’t manage,” he remarked.
Addressing concerns about corruption in the UPDF recruitment process, Gen. Kainerugaba issued a stern warning against bribery.
“If any UPDF officer or man asks for money to recruit you, tell me their name here, and they will see!” he declared, emphasising that recruitment should be based on merit and integrity.
He outlined the key qualifications for joining the UPDF: “All you need is to be healthy, be a Ugandan, be disciplined, and have the right education level.” He encouraged eligible citizens to apply without fear of exploitation.
Additionally, Gen. Kainerugaba made a strong appeal to young Ugandan and African men, emphasising the significance of military service.
“You’ll never be a true man if you do not serve in the military. It’s impossible!” he proclaimed, highlighting the role of military training in shaping character.
His remarks underscore a commitment to fostering a transparent recruitment process while promoting discipline and service within the UPDF.
