The Resident District Commissioner (RDC) of Kikuube district, Amlan Tumusiime, has urged Christians and all people of faith to endure trials and temptations with strength, citing biblical figures such as Job as examples of resilience.

Tumusiime's message was delivered at a fundraising event at St Peter and Paul Buhamba Parish and later at Kibingo Muslim Primary School in Hoima District on March 10, 2025.

Speaking to a captivated audience, Tumusiime reminded the faithful that life is filled with challenges, but with unwavering faith in God, any trial can be overcome.

“Job is a great example in the Bible, who faced numerous difficulties but triumphed because of his strong faith in God,” he said, encouraging the congregation to remain steadfast in the face of adversity.

In a significant announcement, Tumusiime revealed that he would soon be resigning from his position as RDC to focus on his political ambitions in the upcoming 2026 general elections.

His decision was met with excitement and cheers from the Christian community, with chants of “entare ya Bugahya” (The Lion of Bugahya) filling the air.

As part of his commitment to supporting the community, Tumusiime contributed three million shillings to aid in the construction of the church.

He later moved to Kibingo Muslim Primary School in Buraru Sub-County, where he was invited as the Chief Guest for a fundraising drive to renovate the school mosque.

Tumusiime was warmly welcomed by local groups, including Matali Group and boda boda riders, along with former supporters of area MP Pius Wakabi, led by Flavia Adyeeri, who pledged their full support for his political journey.

Tumusiime also made a generous contribution of 1.5 million shillings towards the mosque’s renovation and pledged an additional two million shillings to further support the project.

In his speech at the mosque fundraising, he cautioned against divisive politics based on religion and political affiliations, urging unity among the people.

His involvement in both religious and educational initiatives highlights his growing influence in the region as he prepares for the 2026 elections.
