Doreen Busiinge, a 35-year-old mother from Kiaiinga Sub County in Mubende District, gave birth to four premature babies at seven months on February 14, 2025.

Tragically, one of the babies, a boy, was stillborn, leaving her with three surviving children.

Busiinge, a peasant farmer, is finding it challenging to care for her surviving triplets.

“I gave birth to four babies at seven months, but one passed away. Now, I’m left with three,” she said.

Despite attending antenatal care appointments, Busiinge was surprised to learn that she was carrying four babies instead of three.

“I was told I had three babies in the womb, but when I gave birth, there were four, and sadly, one didn’t survive,” she explained.

Overwhelmed by the responsibility, Busiinge described the difficulties of raising the children.

“I have to buy milk every day to feed them because I don’t have enough breast milk. My husband and I are both farmers, and it’s hard to earn enough money. The triplets have increased our children to 11, and it’s very difficult for us to manage,” she said.

Desperate for help, Busiinge made an appeal to well-wishers.

“Raising 11 children is a heavy burden. We are financially struggling, and I am asking for any support people can offer,” she said.

Benard Twinomugisha, the father of the children, expressed his gratitude for the survival of the triplets.

“I am grateful to God for the gift of life. Although one baby passed away, I am thankful that the other three survived,” he said.

Twinomugisha shared his contact details for anyone wishing to offer assistance: “For those who want to help, my phone numbers are 0756380511 or 0785573367.”

He also highlighted the financial challenges his family faces. “I am a peasant farmer and sometimes work as a shamba boy, earning UGX 5,000 a day. It’s tough to provide for 11 children, and some of them are still in school,” he explained.

Reynon Ssekatudde, a resident of Mubende, also called for support, emphasizing the need for the government and well-wishers to help the struggling family.

“I commend the father for not abandoning his family during this tough time. I urge the government and well-wishers to step in and support this family,” Ssekatudde said.
