Robert Kyagulanyi, known as Bobi Wine and leader of the National Unity Platform (NUP), has raised alarms about his safety.
On Friday, Bobi took to X (formerly Twitter) to report that his home had been surrounded since Thursday by unidentified men in civilian clothing, whom he believes are armed.
He suggested that this situation was being orchestrated by President Museveni and his son, General Muhoozi Kainerugaba.
"Whatever happens to me, Museveni and his son are responsible. From yesterday, our home is being patrolled by strange men in civilian clothes who appear to be armed," Bobi posted.
Bobi further claimed that he had gathered information indicating that these individuals are intent on taking his life.
"We have information that they're after my life - as threatened by Museveni’s son a few days ago. They have gone ahead to trail and abduct many of our comrades, including part of my security team. Right now, they're raiding our Party headquarters. We expect anything from the cowardly regime - but we are not intimidated!" the NUP leader stated.
This development comes barely a week after his brother, Fred Nyanzi, who is also the chief mobilizer for NUP, went missing under mysterious circumstances.
According to the party, Nyanzi was abducted by plain-clothed men shortly after attending a meeting at the NUP headquarters in Kavule.
