Museveni Kicks Off Three-Day Kigezi Tour
President Museveni speaks on Saturday.

President Museveni is set to begin his visit to the Kigezi sub-region tomorrow, February 12, 2025, to assess the implementation of the Parish Development Model (PDM) and commission several completed government projects.

The visit will run until February 14, 2025.

The Minister for ICT and National Guidance, Dr Chris Baryomunsi, made the announcement while addressing a press conference at White Horse Inn in Kabale district.

Baryomunsi noted that during his visit, the President will officially inaugurate key developments, including the Kigezi Power Sub Station in Rubanda, the Kigezi Presidential Hub in Kamuganguzi, and Rushoroza Road.

These infrastructural projects are expected to drive economic growth and improve the quality of life for local communities.

“First of all, the president is beginning his tour in the western Uganda Kigezi sub-region starting tomorrow, and after Kigezi, he will go to Ankole, and from there, he will head to Rwenzori,” Baryomunsi confirmed.

In addition to commissioning the projects, President Museveni will meet with beneficiaries of the Parish Development Program, model farmers, and local leaders.

“This will provide an opportunity for the President to engage with the community, highlight the region's development successes, and foster community growth,” Minister Baryomunsi added.

The President's visit is part of his ongoing efforts to assess the impact of the PDM across the country. The PDM aims to enhance household incomes and lift millions of households out of poverty.
