The NRM Deputy Secretary General, Rose Namayanja has rallied the NRM supporters in Greater Luwero to embrace the display and update of the party membership exercise slated to begin today, Wednesday.
Namayanja urged NRM members while in Wobulenzi Town Council, where she presided at a function organised to thank President Museveni for fighting household poverty through the Parish Development Model (PDM) initiative.

“Go and check if your names are in the National Electoral Commission voters’ register, and those who are not registered should register to be able to vote in the coming elections. Secondly, from tomorrow (Wednesday), the NRM will be displaying its membership register at the villages, go and verify your details,” Namayanja said.
For those who missed registration in last year’s March update and the students who were at school, Namayanja said they will be registered to vote for the NRM flag bearers during the upcoming primary elections.
She thanked President Museveni for improving the welfare of the people in their families through the PDM funds.
“We put the PDM program in the manifesto in the last term because we have had a number of government programs like the Youth Livelihood Program (YLP), the Women Empowerment fund, OWC, NAADS, Boonabagagawale, but we realised that they were all not very effective because they were being managed from the district thus bring them to the parishes for easy access," the NRM supremo said.
“Since time immemorial, no government program has been as successful as the PDM because people are free to decide on how to utilise the money to their benefit,” Namayanja said.
She however decried the corruption of the PDM committees as the major challenge facing this program but warned that, “Anybody found jeopardising the initiative shall be dealt with in accordance with the law. You shouldn't pay anybody money to be included in the PDM program,” Namayanja clarified.
She added, “No payment is required for anybody to benefit from the PDM program. You should receive your one million shillings on your phone without any deductions. If they refuse to give you the money then you report to your leaders and the Resident District Commissioners’ offices."
The Luwero Resident District Commissioner, Ntulume Lwabye reiterated commitment to deal with some PDM Committees that are giving beneficiaries less money.
He appealed to the beneficiaries to utilize the money and return it to the SACCOs for other people to borrow since it is a revolving fund.
