Deputy Speaker Thomas Tayebwa has announced that Parliament will spend the entire Wednesday discussing the 2025/26 National Budget Framework Paper (NBFP), aiming to provide MPs with ample time to debate without feeling rushed.
"Tomorrow we shall consider the NBFP, and I want us to start at 10:00 am. The whole day will be dedicated to the BFP, from 10:00 am until 6:00 pm," Tayebwa stated. "I don't want to limit you in terms of time. I don't want you to lobby or wink at me to catch my eye."

Tayebwa encouraged MPs to thoroughly review the budget document, emphasising that despite the budget committee's report not being transmitted, MPs should have already familiarised themselves with the data pertinent to their areas of interest.
This dedicated session is expected to allow for more in-depth discussions and debates on the budget, ensuring that MPs' concerns and questions are addressed.
