The Kyabazinga of Busoga, His Majesty William Gabula Nadiope IV, has praised MTN Uganda for its tireless efforts in supporting the kingdom's socio-cultural engagement initiatives and development programs.
These initiatives aim to transform the lives of his subjects, particularly in areas such as health, education, and sports.
"I would like to thank MTN Uganda for its tireless efforts. The Company's contributions in the kingdom are invaluable, I am confident that together, we can achieve great things—let us continue to work together to build a prosperous and vibrant kingdom for all," the Kyabazinga stated.
The Kyabazinga's remarks were delivered by Busoga Kingdom's second deputy Prime Minister, Owek. Alhaj Osman Ahmed Noor, at a get-together party for staff of World Planet Communications (WPS), an MTN distributor in the Busoga region.
The event was held at the Sailing Club in Jinja City on January 18th, 2025.
Owek. Alhaj Osman also revealed that the Kyabazinga was appointed UNAIDS ambassador to champion the fight against early girl child pregnancies.
He called upon MTN Uganda to join the cause, emphasising the need for collective action to address this critical issue.
"Our girls, daughters, and sisters are suffering because of dropping out of schools due to early girl child pregnancies. We must work together to support our children and save them from these early pregnancies," Owek. Alhaj Osman urged.
The event was attended by notable figures, including Prof. Wasswa Balunywa, a board member of MTN Momo, and Richard Yego, CEO of MTN Momo Uganda.
