Presidential Aide Kirunda Defends Museveni's Bail Directive

 

A war of words has erupted over President Museveni's directive on bail, with Deputy Press Secretary Faruk Kirunda jumping to the President's defence.

Kirunda's remarks come in response to criticisms from Minister of Justice and Constitutional Affairs, Norbert Mao, and other individuals who have expressed opposition to the President's stance.

According to Kirunda, the President's goal is to "instill a culture of efficient and timely dispensing of justice to end impunity, frustration of cases, and lawlessness."

Kirunda questioned the motives of those opposing the President's plan, asking, "Why would anyone oppose this plan?"

Kirunda also emphasized that President Museveni is well-versed in the law and doesn't require "lectures on the Law and how it applies."

He described the President as the "kingpin of Constitutionalism, Law and Order."
