His situation has been deteriorating for the past couple of days," Ssenyonyi said. "This morning, doctors informed his mother that he had become brain dead and that all his organs had shut down. However, they also noted a faint pulse, sustained by medical equipment."

Speaking to reporters, Ssenyonyi explained that doctors had advised restricting visitors to reduce the risk of infection due to the MP's fragile state.
"His situation has been deteriorating for the past couple of days," Ssenyonyi said. "This morning, doctors informed his mother that he had become brain dead and that all his organs had shut down. However, they also noted a faint pulse, sustained by medical equipment."
The medical team, led by acting Executive Director Dr. Grace Nanyondo, told Ssenyonyi and other leaders that while there is no hope medically, they cannot officially declare him dead due to the remaining pulse.
"The doctors have said it would be unethical to declare him dead at this stage, even though the prognosis is grim," Ssenyonyi added.
Ssenyonyi called on Ugandans, particularly residents of Kawempe North, to pray for Ssegirinya during this critical time.
"The doctors cannot give us hope, but they have reminded us that miracles are possible. Let us keep praying," he said.
Ssegirinya, who has been in and out of intensive care, was admitted to Rubaga Hospital in critical condition a few days ago.
Efforts to stabilise him have so far been unsuccessful.
The Opposition has pledged to keep the public updated on any developments.
Meanwhile, the hospital management is working closely with the family and political leaders to manage the situation.
