I am going to sack the Electoral Commission, incompetent public servants- Museveni

President Yoweri Museveni has expressed his displeasure with the Electoral Commission, which he has blamed for grossly mismanaging recent elections. The president said that he is considering getting rid of the team which is “full of rotten people.”

Museveni was gracing the handover ceremony of 128 newly elected women district chairpersons.

“The Electoral Commission is full of rotten people, I am going to get rid of them, why should we suffer with corrupt electoral officials when NRM has got so much man power, they should get out,” an angry Museveni said.

The President further blamed the electoral commission for importing ghost voters into the register, specifically in reference to Jinja East by-elections where FDC’s Paul Mwiru beat NRM flag bearer Nathan Igeme Nabeta.

Museveni was not yet done, he also lashed at the public service, saying that most public servants were incompetent and needed to be fired.

“Things in the public service would move better if we had good public servants.”

The president however ended on a generous mood awarding each of the women two cows on addition to a directive to give one more cow to each of them through the Operation Wealth Creation program.
