The iconic Soroti Public Gardens has undergone a stunning transformation, emerging as a beacon of beauty and artistic expression in the heart of Soroti City.

The newly revamped space, adorned with elegant pieces of art, is the result of a visionary initiative spearheaded by Capt. Mike Mukula, the National NRM Chairman for Eastern Uganda.

Once a simple green space, the Soroti Public Gardens now boasts an array of artistic installations that celebrate the region’s rich culture and heritage.

Sculptures, murals, and thoughtfully landscaped areas have turned the gardens into a vibrant hub for relaxation and inspiration. Each piece of art tells a story, reflecting the traditions and resilience of the Teso people while embracing modern aesthetics.

Capt. Mukula, a prominent businessman, philanthropist, and political leader, shared his vision for the project. “The goal was to create a space that not only preserves our cultural identity but also provides a serene environment for the community. Soroti deserves to shine, and this is just the beginning of revitalising our city,” he said during the unveiling.

The public gardens are already attracting visitors from within and beyond Soroti. Families, students, and tourists have flocked to the site, drawn by its vibrant atmosphere and picturesque settings.

The project has also created opportunities for local artists and artisans, whose works feature prominently in the garden’s redesign.

Residents have expressed their gratitude and pride in the transformed space. “This is a masterpiece. It’s not just a park anymore; it’s a source of inspiration and unity,” said Jane Apio, a resident of Soroti City.

The new face of Soroti Public Gardens symbolises progress, creativity, and community pride, establishing itself as a must-visit landmark in the city. Thanks to Capt. Mike Mukula’s vision, Soroti City now has a space that uplifts and celebrates its people.
