President Museveni has promised to deliver a motorcycle to a village LC1 chairman who cried out to him for the same.
In a heartfelt plea that captured the attention of both the president and local leaders, Modan Lomilo, the chairman of a Karamoja village, expressed his frustrations with the challenges of life on foot.

During a meeting with leaders in Morulinga, Lomilo boldly declared, "I am tired of walking on foot; it is my time to enjoy state privilege."
The chairman's candid request for a motorcycle sparked laughter and applause among the gathered leaders, with some breaking into a roar of approval.
In response, President Museveni promised to provide Lomilo with shs6 million to purchase the desired motorcycle.
The commitment was met with jubilation, and Lomilo reassured the president that the motorcycle would serve a vital purpose.
"This will help me reach the electorate more effectively so that you can get 99.9% of the votes," he pledged, evoking further cheers from the audience.
The interaction was one of the highlights of President Museveni’s three-day tour of Karamoja, which concluded on December 5. The president's visit aimed to assess the impact of the Parish Development Model (PDM) in the region.
On December 3, the president visited Abim, Nakapiripirit, and Amudat districts, where he inspected farming projects funded through PDM.
The following day, he held a leaders’ meeting in Morulinga, where Lomilo made his request.
President Museveni also engaged the media at the State Lodge in Morulinga on December 5 before visiting the grave of the late Simon Aleper, the former NRM Vice Chair for Karamoja.
The president’s tour concluded with a public rally in Kotido, where he reiterated his commitment to ensuring the success of development programs in the Karamoja sub-region.
Lomilo’s request and the president’s promise have become a talking point among the leaders and residents, symbolizing hope for greater government support in the region.
