The Uganda Muslim Supreme Council (UMSC) has reclaimed key plots of land in Kampala, marking a significant achievement in the council’s ongoing efforts to recover lost properties.
The announcement was made by the Mufti of Uganda, Sheikh Shaban Ramadhan Mubaje, during the UMSC National Management Committee meeting.
The Mufti disclosed that the UMSC had previously lost ownership documents and physical possession of the properties.
However, through persistent efforts, the council successfully regained control of the land. Members of the committee celebrated the announcement with chants of "Allahu Akbar," praising Allah for the breakthrough.
Among the recovered properties is a nearly half-acre plot along Gayaza Road, for which UMSC has secured a new title.
Additionally, the council presented a land title for another plot located in Busega, Lubaga Division, on the outskirts of Kampala.
“This is a great milestone for the Muslim community,” said Mubaje, urging the council to safeguard the properties to prevent future losses.
In a related development, Hadji Abbas Muluubya Ssekyanzi, the UMSC Secretary-General, shared updates on the construction of UMSC Housing Estates.
The project, located in a fast-growing Kampala suburb, comprises 29 three-bedroom apartments, which will significantly enhance the council’s asset portfolio.
