President Yoweri Museveni has issued a strong warning to leaders who he believes are misleading Ugandans and diverting their attention from crucial issues like wealth creation.
Speaking at a thanksgiving ceremony for Minister of Energy and Mineral Development Ruth Nankabirwa, Museveni expressed frustration with politicians who prioritize personal agendas over the well-being of the people. He emphasized the importance of focusing on grassroots development and economic empowerment.
The President highlighted the success of the NRM's wealth creation programs, citing examples of communities that have prospered through agriculture and small-scale businesses. He criticized leaders who obstruct government initiatives and prioritize partisan politics over national interests.
Museveni also took the opportunity to congratulate Nankabirwa on her appointment as a Canon in the Church of Uganda, recognizing her contributions to the country and the church. He emphasized the importance of separating culture from politics and urged Ugandans to prioritize national unity.
