Ssenyonyi Questions Transparency in Pinetti Project
Leader of the Opposition in Parliament, Joel Ssenyonyi, has raised concerns over the lack of transparency in the Pinetti project, a multi-billion healthcare initiative.
Ssenyonyi expressed surprise that State Minister for Primary Healthcare, Margaret Muhanga, was allowed access to the project site while her senior, the Minister of Health, was denied entry.

"As Parliamentarians, we have severally been denied access... Why this project is not open to scrutiny, yet over 600bn of taxpayers' money has been injected into it?" Ssenyonyi questioned.
He also criticized the constantly shifting deadline for the project's completion, doubting the promised 2025 target. "2025... will come and go, and the 'hospital' will not be open, not even partially," Ssenyonyi predicted.
Ssenyonyi demanded accountability for the billions invested in the project, emphasising the need for transparency. "We still demand accountability for the billions the taxpayer has injected into this Pinetti project."
This development highlights tensions between the opposition and the government over the project's management and accessibility.
