Teso leaders thank President Museveni for honoring - Onapito Ekomoloit
President Yoweri Museveni has announced that the late Onapito Ekomoloit, former Member of Parliament for Amuria and Presidential Press Secretary, will receive an official burial.
The National Organising Committee (N.O.C) is set to collaborate with the Parliament of Uganda to organize a fitting send-off for the respected leader.

In a statement, posted by Milly Babalanda there President extended condolences to Onapito's family, the people of Teso, and all Ugandans, expressing deep sorrow over the loss.
"May Hon. Onapito's soul rest in eternal peace," he added, reflecting the national mourning for the late MP.
Ekomoloit, known for his dedication to public service and his contributions to the political landscape, will be remembered fondly by many.
Details regarding the burial arrangements are expected to be released soon.
However several Leaders in the Teso in their x handles have expressed their heartfelt gratitude to President Yoweri Museveni for granting the late Onapito Ekomoloit an official burial and national recognition.
In a statement, Capt Mike Mukula said "exceedingly humbled and profoundly grateful" for the President’s decision to honor the former Member of Parliament and Presidential Press Secretary.
They emphasized Ekomoloit’s significant contributions to the nation and the transport industry, noting that his legacy will continue to inspire future generations.
Other members of parliament have also been seen thanking the president.
The leaders urged the public to join in commemorating Ekomoloit’s life and service as preparations for the official burial begin.
Preliminary information on ground is that Ona body will arrive teso in two weeks time as engineers finalize his burial place as written by him on his Will.
