Security forces kill two warriors, recover firearm
The joint security forces operating in Karamoja say they have shot dead two notorious warriors and captured one accomplice in a targeted operation in Karenga district.
The operation, which took place on September 25, 2024, saw the recovery of an SMG rifle, numbered H9211, with 27 live rounds of ammunition.

The raid, accompanied by a gunfight, occurred at a hideout in Lokodope village, Kawalakol Sub-County.
The slain warriors, identified as Issa Lokuria and Lemukol Lopiringole, were residents of Lolelia Sub-County, Kaabong district, and are reported to have long terrorized communities across multiple sub-counties, including Kathile, Sangar, Karenga, and Kawalakol.
Their accomplice, Tayal Korianga, was captured alive and remains in military custody.
Major Isaac Oware, Information Officer of the 3rd Division, described Issa Lokuria as a criminal mastermind who led his group for years.
"Lokuria's gang was infamous for cross-border smuggling of arms, poaching in Kidepo Valley National Park, and forming alliances with criminal elements in South Sudan." Maj. Oware said
