Besigye allies set to unveil a political party

The FDC Katonga faction is gearing up to host a delegates' conference at its headquarters on Katonga Road, in Kampala. Over 700 delegates from across the country are expected to attend the meeting on August 19 2024.

Themed, "Focus Forces of Change to the Struggle for Freedom", the faction, through its Party Acting President, and city Lord Mayor Erias Lukwago, will present a report on nationwide consultations.
The conference aims to adopt a resolution on forming a new party based on 80% of consultation results, the Nile Post has learnt.
Roland Mugume Kaginda, Vice Chairperson western of the katonga faction, urged the government not to disrupt the meeting and called on members to attend in large numbers. In the same vain, preparatory meetings for FDC women and Kampala metropolitan leaders began today.
Additionally, Spokesperson, Hon. Ssemujju Nganda informed the police that after the conference, faction members will converge and march to the Kenyan High Commission in Uganda to follow up on a delivered letter.
