Uganda's Mark Batemyetto named Atlanta Black Chambers regional lead
The Global Opportunities Committee (GOC) of the Atlanta Black Chambers (ABC) has appointed Mark Talemwa Batemyetto as the regional lead for Uganda.
The Atlanta Black Chambers is a non-profit organization consisting of individuals engaging in business, community and government activities whose mission is to serve as an advocate for the creation and growth of competitive, profitable and sustainable Black owned entities.

According to the organisation, the appointment reinforces the GOC's commitment to promoting economic development, trade, and partnerships for Black-owned businesses in the country.
Mr. Ricardo Berrís, chairman of the Global Opportunities Committee, expressed excitement about having Batemyetto as their regional lead, noting that his expertise in the Ugandan business landscape will contribute significantly to the company's success.
“We are excited to have Mark Talemwa Batemyetto at the helm of our Ugandan endeavours. His deep understanding of the Ugandan business landscape and his dedication to empowering Black entrepreneurs are invaluable assets to our mission," he said.
Talemwa's appointment aligns with the GOC's ambitious 10-year plan to unlock $100 billion in global transactions for Black businesses.
This plan focuses on boosting global trade, investments, and partnerships for its members through initiatives like virtual and in-person programs, delegation visits, and strategic engagements.
As regional lead, Batemyetto will mobilize Black-owned businesses from Uganda to participate in a two-day Go Global conference in Atlanta, Georgia, which is designed to foster international networking and collaboration opportunities.
In preparation for the "GO Global" conference, Batemyetto plans to organize industry-specific workshops and symposiums in Uganda. These events will focus on sectors with high potential for Ugandan Black-owned businesses, such as agriculture, technology, tourism, hospitality, manufacturing, and oil & gas.
Uganda's strategic location and vibrant entrepreneurial spirit make it an ideal hub for Black business growth.
With a dynamic workforce, expanding consumer market, and supportive government, Uganda offers significant potential.
Batemyetto's choice to establish the regional base there highlights his commitment to leveraging these advantages for Black-owned businesses.
