"The construction and equipping of Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) centers across the country is aimed at empowering our youth with technical skills.
This will ensure they have market-ready skills that will boost our resolve to curb unemployment and, at the same time, boost our manufacturing and industrialisation efforts," Ruto stated.
In a recent event in Nyali, Mombasa County, President Ruto officially opened a new tuition block at the Pwani School for the Mentally Challenged. This initiative underscores his administration's commitment to inclusivity and support for education for all, including children with special needs.
Additionally, Ruto laid the foundation stone for the Nyali Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) centre, marking a significant step in the region's educational and economic development.
The establishment of TVET centers is a key component of the Kenyan government's strategy to address the high levels of youth unemployment. By providing practical and industry-relevant skills, these institutions aim to enhance the employability of graduates and meet the demands of a rapidly evolving job market.
The focus on TVET is also seen as a critical driver for Kenya's aspirations in manufacturing and industrialization, sectors identified as crucial for economic growth and job creation.
President Ruto's initiatives in Mombasa reflect a broader national agenda to invest in education and skills development, ensuring that Kenyan youth are well-prepared to contribute to the country's socio-economic progress.
The government's emphasis on technical education and vocational training aligns with global trends that recognize the importance of skilled labor in achieving sustainable economic development.
As these projects continue to unfold, the impact on the local community and the broader Kenyan society will be closely watched, with many hoping for significant positive outcomes in terms of job creation, economic growth, and social inclusion.
