Tanga Odoi: "My late father was not bewitched"

The chairman of the NRM Electoral Commission, Dr Tanga Odoi has refuted reports that the cause of his father's death was linked to witchcraft.

"As much as Africans want to live long like trees, my father wasn't bewitched. He was diagnosed to have had a weak heart", Odoi told mourners at St. Luke Church in Ntinda on Thursday.

Born in 1920, Mzee Yokolamu Tanga is survived by 21 children and 90 grand children.

During his time, Yokolamu Tanga gained repute as a great cotton farmer and used the proceeds to educate his children.

Justine Kasule Lumumba, the party secretary general, could not attend the service because she is out of the country.
