Meeting between govt chief whip Obua, Ssekikubo on censure motion hits dead end
The meeting between the Government Chief Whip Hamson Obua and the movers of the motion seeking to impeach the four embattled Commissioners has hit a dead end after the movers refused to agree on request to drop the motion.
The movers have instead faulted the Government Chief Whip Hamson Obua of failing to summon a parliamentary NRM Caucus for the last six months to discuss the ongoing alleged corruption in the August House that has left the image of Parliament wanting.

The mover of the motion Theodore Ssekikubo together with his seconders MPs Sarah Opendi and Odria Arion on Friday engaged in a three hour closed meeting at Parliament where they failed to agree to have the motion of impeaching commissioners halted.
Addressing the media after the meeting, Ssekikubo and colleagues said the matter can only be halted after the Speaker has put it on the order paper for legislators to debate it and take a decision.
They vowed to continue with the exercise of collecting signatures in spite of the inference and threats to some MPs not to append their signatures on the motion.
" We are devising means of reaching out to MPs Individually because we have seen some getting threats that they should not sign," Ssekikubo said.
The movers of the motion also faulted the government chief whip for failing to summon the NRM Parliamentary Caucus for the last six months to have the issue of corruption in Parliament discussed.
"We told the government chief whip on why the caucus has not sat since the beginning of the year to have these issues sorted out and said it can only sit on the appointment of the president, "MP Odria Arion said.
The legislators also revealed that they are seeking an appointment with President Museveni to provide him with the necessary evidence of corruption at the August House.
"We have enough evidence on the ongoing corruption in Parliament and as CEC shouldnt just sit there and make a resolution without hearing from us the movers of this historical motion."
Meanwhile NRM’S Buhaguzi East MP Stephen Aseera appended his signature to the motion .
