Strategies must include Strengthening institutions like the Auditor General's office and the Anti-Corruption Court and Implementing e-procurement systems to increase transparency.

Corruption is a scourge that has plagued Uganda for far too long, hindering development and perpetuating inequality. However, the fight against corruption must be grounded in facts, not emotions or rhetoric.

Recent statistics reveal that 30% of public procurement contracts are awarded corruptly, Uganda loses UGX 10 trillion annually to corruption and 70% of citizens believe corruption is on the rise.

Facts like these underscore the need for a data-driven approach to combat corruption. It's time to move beyond mere rhetoric and tackle the root causes of corruption.

Strategies must include Strengthening institutions like the Auditor General's office and the Anti-Corruption Court and Implementing e-procurement systems to increase transparency.

The others are enhancing whistleblower protection and encouraging citizen reporting and conducting regular asset declarations and lifestyle audits for public officials.

By fighting corruption with facts, Ugandans can reclaim their country's future and build a society founded on transparency, accountability, and good governance. The time for action is now.
