Ssemogerere calls on parents to instill discipline in their children

The archbishop of Kampala, the Rev Paul Ssemogerere, has called on parents to prioritise instilling discipline in their children to ensure responsible upbringing in the face of the increasing moral decay in today's generation.

The archbishop made the remarks at the launch of the Diamond Jubilee of Kisubi Seminary, where he also initiated a fundraising campaign for the construction of the Cabana Memorial Building, a new facility aimed at expanding the seminary's infrastructural capacity.

While gracing the launch of the Diamond jubilee celebrations of Kisubi Seminary, Archbishop Ssemogerere tasked parents to prioritise instilling discipline among the young generation amidst the spike in moral decay that is eating up the society.

In the mass, the archbishop also commissioned the planned architectural construction of the Cabana memorial building, in honour of the Seminary's founder, Bishop Louis Cabana, a building budgeted to cost shillings 2.5 billion.

The rector of Kisubi Seminary, Fr Francis Ssengendo, highlighted the historical significance of the seminary's Diamond Jubilee, reflecting the seminary's longstanding contributions to the moral development of society, and fostering ethical values and discipline among the youth.

“We call upon all faithful people across the country to come and support us in construct this memorial building at the seminary” Fr. Ssengendo stated.

The building is expected to house students, student teachers, classes and a computer laboratory.

With now 73 years of existence, Kisubi Seminary, a ground-breaking formation house for catholic priests in Kampala archdiocese will celebrate its Diamond jubilee in 2026.
