Ndaiga Sub County is 31 kilometres from Kagadi town with an estimated population of 20,000 people living on Lake Albert shores with  16 landing sites but its loses poses a security, especially being near the border with DRC.

While there seems to have been some relative peace, security in Kagadi district has asked people to be vigilant citing ADF terror threats emerging.

Benjamin Tumusiime, the Kagadi deputy resident commissioner confirmed that these threats have risen several times, expressing worry of the ever increasing population at the lake with most of them not known.

"The challenge is crossing from Congo to Uganda is just three hours, and we have learnt there are attempts by ADF to cross to Uganda. The challenge we have  is that most of these landing sites are not gazetted, no leadership, so it's hard to tell who is a Uganda and who is not."

Musa Shaban, the Fisheries Protection Unit sector commander for Ntoroko and Kagadi districts challenged leaders and people to be extremely vigilant.

"In our movements and operations, we got a message of possible ADF infiltration into Uganda, so we don't have to take anything for granted," Musa said

However, Tumusiime the Kagadi deputy RDC says they have increased their intelligence in the area, police and army have also been put on the alert to ensure safety.

"When people informed us of people they don't know, we realized they need assurance of security, I want to assure the public that our security is very present both in Uniform and non uniform, so stay calm we are on top of the game," Tumusiime assured.
