Kabarole Woman MP: Isiko wanted to lure me into trap so that I get killed

The under fire Kabarole Woman MP, Sylvia Rwabwogo has said she does not regret getting Brian Isiko imprisoned because the "young boy" was trying to lure her into a trap.

In a message posted on her Facebook page, she wrote: "What most of you regard as mere love messages should know that this was not just love messages. This boy was being used by some selfish individuals in a mission to lure me with love and kill me."

Isiko was sentenced to two years in jail by the Buganda Road magistrates court for stalking the legislator and sending disturbing love messages to her phone.

Many people on social media attacked Rwabwogo saying she had over-reacted and had not handled the situation maturely.

Feminists however defended her saying the messages had caused mental anguish to Rwabwogo and had helped fan the stereotype that women are sex objects.

In her post Rwabwogo tried to justify her reaction.

"I endured fear and suffering due to those who sent Brian [Isiko] to trap and kill me. [Cerinah] Nebanda was killed in such a way. I didn't have to wait to be killed, as a precautionary measure I had to seek the solace of authorities to protect myself, my family and constituents from horror," she said.

She called upon Ugandans to be vigilant at all times to avoid dying like animals.
