KCB to headline this year's Kyambogo ultra run
KCB Bank Uganda has announced a shs25 million sponsorship package for this year’s Kyambogo Ultra Challenge Run.
The development will see the bank become the main sponsors of this year’s run slated for May, 4 at Kyambogo Cricket Oval.

Speaking on Tuesday, Julius Nkuraija, the CEO Kyambogo Ultra Run said the event which started off as a fun run as one of the way to prepare for marathons has grown to attract interest from a number of people.
“ It was initially focused on 15km of running but now we encourage people to run 25kms and later grow into the 42 km which is a full marathon and then 50km then 56 km and even up to 90km. This partnership and sponsorship are a big opportunity for us to begin building something within East Africa which can grow into something bigger,” Nkuraija said.
He said their dream of making the run one of the best on the continent and in the world at large is still valid.
“We are happy with this partnership and we are confident that over time, the run will be one of the best in region, continent and world .We assure KCB Bank that we are the right partners they chose.”
According to Nkuraija, during the upcoming event on May, 4 they expect to attract 500 runners, 150 of whom will run the 50km race , with the rest going for 25km.
“To all Ugandans, I encourage you to participate in the runs that get organized not only by us but also other entities across the country. The health benefits recorded are immense because then we are all positively investing in our lives for a greater cause.”
The head of marketing and communications at KCB Bank Uganda, Diana Komukama Ssempebwa said the bank will continue support different sports disciplines around the country.
“Our passion for supporting sports in the country is one of the ways we strive to live up to our brand promise by lending support and encouragement to those around us to partake in healthy living by exercising through sports,” Ssempebwa said.
She said participants during this year’s run will pay shs50,000 through KCBpay.
