This Friday 5th the Kyabazinga of Busoga William Gabula Nadiope IV and the Inhebantu Jovia Mutesi are expected to host the Muslim community at a sumptuous ceremony in the Igenge Palace in Jinja City.

According Busoga Prime Minister Joseph Muvawala, about 5,000 Muslims in Busoga are expected to attend the royal event which is expected to start at 11am.

The Kyabazinga has invited 50,00 of his subjects and guests from in and around Busoga sub-region who will also get hampers from MTN and other sponsors.

Muvawala, however, warned those who will attend to desist from indecent dressing, emphasising that Islamic attire shall be allowed.

"If you don't have a hijab or abaya and Kanzus for men you either go and buy or you should stay home on that day," Muvawala said.

He added that the Kyabazinga and his wife shall be dressed in Muslim attire not the official Kisoga cultural attire, so shall be the Katukiro and other kingdom officials.

Muvawala revealed that Juma Prayers shall be held at the Palace and there after the Muslims led by the Deputy Mufti of Uganda Muslim Supreme Council, Sheikh Ali Waiswa, shall lead prayers to bless the Royal Couple.

This function is very important in the history of Busoga because these are first official prayers held by the Kyabazinga and Inhebantu since they tied the knot on 18th November 2023.
