Analysts caution that in order to effectively fulfil his duties, Muhoozi must prioritize building a leadership persona that garners trust from the Ugandan populace, urging him to steer clear of political mobilization efforts.
The UPDF expresses optimism about Muhoozi's appointment, believing that his extensive experience within the army positions him well to tackle the current issues faced by the force.
Among the pressing matters awaiting his attention are the enhancement of officer salaries, alleged irregularities in promotions, desertion cases, and the need to maintain the UPDF's apolitical stance amidst allegations of involvement in political activities and human rights violations.
Brigadier General Felix Kulayigye, spokesperson for the UPDF, emphasizes Muhoozi's familiarity with ongoing operations such as the ADF campaign, underscoring his capability to lead the force effectively.
However, security and leadership analyst Simon Mulongo underscore the importance for Muhoozi to address public perceptions and establish himself as a credible leader devoid of political affiliations.
