Uganda's Kakuba joins Greek side Giannina

Ugandan defender Alex Kakuba has signed a two-year contract for an undisclosed fee with Giannina, the Greek Super League club announced Monday.

“It is a professional challenge for me to compete in a different championship than Portugal and I am looking forward to playing with Giannina,” Kakuba said.

Kakuba, 27, has made four appearances with the Ugandan national team.

On a club level he has played the last two seasons with Portuguese side Feirense in 33 matches.

Kakuba has also played for Portuguese teams Estoril, (2014-2015), Covilha (2013-2014), Esperanca de Lagos (2012-2013) and started his career with Uganda's Proline (2010-2012).
