Ahead of the Women's Day celebrations, Standard Chartered Bank has hosted Goal Girl, an initiative that seeks to empower underprivileged girls, a significant step towards gender equality and economic inclusion.

The Head of Corporate Affairs at Standard Chartered Bank, Margaret Kigozi, notes that the initiative has impacted impacted over 12,000 girls from the age of 13 to 22 years since its inception in 2014.

As the world gears up to celebrate the international Women's Day, slated March 8, Standard Chartered Bank has hosted Goal Girl, an initiative that seeks to empower underprivileged girls ,from the age of 13 years to 22 years a significant step towards gender equality and economic inclusion.

She emphasized the importance of equipping these young women with essential life skills and financial literacy Through coaching sessions and mentorship programs,

On the sidelines of this event Kigozi also stressed the need for environmental preservations and noted that besides the girl child empowerment initiatives the bank looks at planting 50,000 trees this in the ache to preserve the environment among the many other initiatives.

"We planted 40,000 trees last year and we are looking at planting 50,000 trees this year," Kigozi said.
