Fik Fameika denied USA Visa

Ugandan artiste Walukaga Shafik alias Fik Fameika is racing against time to be on plane to United States of America.

The singer who was invited by Uganda’s oldest diaspora association UNAA for their September annual convention in Seattle, USA, so far has has all reasons to travel except the visa.

Fik Fameika on invite dashed to the embassy but his application was turned down. Nile Post contacted the “mafia’ singer and he said; “The visa process had developed certain complications.”

“Things are not good at the embassy, but I will try going back,” Fameika said in a telephone conversation.

However, Fameika’s contractors in the USA claim that the singer applied for a wrong VISA, reason he was turned away.

UNAA Vice President Mr Julius Muwulya said that the singer applied for a visitors’ visa instead of a cultural visa.

“Our main artists are Dr.Jose Chameleone, Queen Sheebah, Irene Ntale, Pastor Bugembe, Eddy Yawe.  MunG, Liane they are getting their Visas soon,” Muwulya said.

Muwulya however said that they will provide entertainment to the maximum but their main concern is on trade and investment as main objectives.

This is the second time in just under a month that UNAA artistes are finding the embassy a stumbling block following reports that another of their lead singers, Eddie Yawe was denied Visa citing over stay the previous time he was in Boston.

Regarding Yawe, Muwulya conceded that his situation is ‘unique” but was hopeful he could make it to the convention.
