A tragic murder incident unfolded in the early hours of today as a violent confrontation erupted at a local bar in Janda Zone, resulting in the death of one person.

The victim, identified as Bianca, tragically lost her life during the altercation.

The Kira division police have initiated a comprehensive investigation into the incident.

Eyewitnesses present at the scene reported that the confrontation was sparked by a dispute over Bianca's phone.

Three individuals, namely Gido Joh alias Johnnie, Clement, and Bombom, were allegedly involved in the altercation, which escalated rapidly and tragically led to Bianca's untimely demise.

The assailants swiftly fled the bar, leaving behind a scene of chaos and sorrow.

Luke Owoyesigyire, the Deputy Public Relations officer for Kampala Metropolitan Police, stated that the Kira Division Police responded promptly to the incident upon receiving the alert.

He said law enforcement officers swiftly arrived at the scene, securing the area and beginning the process of documenting the crime scene. Witness statements were collected to aid in the investigation.

As a result of the swift action taken by the authorities, Owoyesigyire noted that one of the suspects, Joh Gido, has been apprehended and is currently under the custody of the Kira Division Police.

However, the search for the remaining suspects is still ongoing.

He urged the public to assist in any way possible by providing relevant information that could aid in the apprehension of the suspects still at large. Community cooperation is deemed vital to the progress of the investigation.

In the aftermath of this tragic incident, the body of the deceased has been transferred to City Mortuary Mulago.

Forensic experts will conduct a thorough postmortem examination in order to gather crucial evidence that may assist in shedding light on the circumstances surrounding Bianca's death.

Owoyesigyire expressed his condolences to the family and friends of the victim, assuring the public that the police are fully committed to ensuring that justice is served in this case.

He emphasised that regular updates regarding the investigation will be provided as new information emerges.
