A UK born Ugandan rapper cum poet, George Mpanga, also known as George the Poet,is one of the best things that have so far happened to the highly billed royal wedding between Prince Harry and US actress Meghan Markel.
Mpanga was on docket on the BBC One’s live coverage of the royal wedding, opening with a poem to the couple at 9:00am.
Mpanga later in the programme, briefly talked about his work as ambassador for Sentebale, Prince Harry's charity - based in Lesotho, which seeks to reduce the stigma around HIV among the youth in the region.

After the performance, praises showered Mpanga from every nook and cranny, with a one Irene Hitchcock, a swim teacher by profession, calling it a very “powerful peom.”
“Oh Georgie. I love you honey. This is powerful. Now go and explain everything else to the world. We need your poetry,” she said.
George Mpanga, was born to Ugandan parents Edith and Kato Mpanga in Harlesden, north-west London. He began performing rap music at the age of 15 years.
The musician-turned-poet studied politics, psychology and Sociology at King’s College London and Cambridge University.
Meanwhile, Sentebale is a charity founded by Prince Harry and Prince Seeiso in 2006 following Prince Harry’s gap year to Lesotho in 2004.
