Uganda out as Egypt beat Congo Brazzaville 2-1

Uganda Cranes are officially out of the race to qualify for the 2018 World Cup in Russia after Egypt defeated Congo Brazzaville at the Borg Al-Arab Stadium in Cairo on Sunday.

The win means that Egypt now has 12 points against Uganda's eight in Group E with one game left.

Liverpool's Mohamed Salah scored two goals, including one in added time, after Congo Brazzaville's Boukou Moutou had equalised in the 88th minute to set the game for a possible upset.

The Cranes drew against Ghana on Saturday in a match that had a controversial end after The Black Stars goal was disallowed in the 93rd minute.

Ghana has lodged a complaint with FIFA seeking to have the match replayed
