CWG Uganda, Veritas demonstrate solutions for Data Protection Act compliance

CWG Uganda and Veritas Technologies have demonstrated to members of the public and organisations, solutions  required to comply with the Uganda Data Protection Act 2019

The Data Protection Act  2019 Applies to a person/institution/public body collecting, processing, holding, or using personal and to data processed or recorded automatically or manually.

During the workshop organized by CWG Uganda, in partnership with Veritas, there was a demonstration for solutions organizations need to invest in to ensure  they comply with the Data Protection Act 2019.

The workshop was attended by organisations from the banking, telecom, government and industries sectors who all gave their insights into what their plans are to ensure they are compliant.

The CWG Uganda team was led by Peter Tumusiime, as conversations revolved around key concepts including the  Personal Data Protection Office and regulation of the Data Act.

Peter Tumusiime, the CWG Uganda Country Manager asserted that there are many benefits to complying with data protection law.

“As well as being the law, good data protection also makes good economic sense because it saves you time and money. It also shows people that you care about their information, which is good for your reputation and your brand,” he noted.
