Woman arrested for burning maid's private parts, battering her with electric wire

Police in Bweyogerere, Wakiso district are holding two people in custody for allegedly causing grievous maid to a house maid.

The two include Peter Kayiguwa, 50 the manager of a house help recruiting company and Sandra Mukibi, a resident of Kireka and master of the victim.

It is alleged that Kayiduwa through his company known as Master Maids Uganda Limited advertised “juicy jobs’ that attracted the victim and many other unemployed young girls to apply.

On application, the victim was assigned to Sandra Mukibi's residence in Kireka to work as her house maid but things turned ugly for her when Mukibi started transferring her domestic fights with her husband to the maid.

“It is alleged that because of her boss's domestic marital fights with her husband, the house maid was at the receiving end of the conflicts,” a statement from Kampala Metropolitan Police reads in part.

“She was battered with electric wires, pieces of wood, forcefully confined indoors, burnt hands, private parts, beaten with a ladle, detained in a storeroom and later Mukibi failed to pay her wages,” the statement continues.

The details of the case came to light when police in Bweyogerere received a report from the victim's family saying that their daughter had been gruesomely mistreated and maimed.

Police has now arrested and detained the suspects at Bweyogerere Police Station vide SD REF 13/01/05/2018.
