KCCA’s Mutebi believes the Uganda Premier League title race is still open

Kampala Capital City Authority Football Club tactician Mike Mutebi has said the Lugogo side is still in the race for this year’s Uganda Premier League title despite the loss to Vipers.

KCCA were beaten 3-2 by Vipers SC at the St.Mary’s stadium on Friday to open a four point lead against the Kasasiro boys.

Speaking during a post- match press conference at Kitende on Friday, Mutebi admitted that chances of his team defending the title they won last season have reduced but said they are still in the title race.

“The chances of us defending the title have reduced but the fight is still on. It is not over and we shall play until the last day,”Mutebi said.

“The chances of us defending the title are only 50 percent because Vipers now have an advantage ahead of us.”

However, on the other side, when asked whether his team was now clear for celebrations to begin , Vipers assistant coach Edward Golola said the fight is far from over, adding that every game now is a final to his team.

Vipers are four points clear with five games to play in the Azam Uganda Premier League.
