UPL: Patrick Kaddu returns to KCCA FC

StarTimes Uganda Premier League table  leaders, KCCA FC  have announced the recapture of forward  Patrick Kaddu.

Kaddu left the Lugogo based side in 2019 to join Moroccan side RS Berkane but having failed to impress in North Africa, he was later loaned to Ismaily FC in Egypt in 2020 but later joined Youssoufia Berrechid in Morocco and   after the expiry of his contract, the Cranes forward has returned home.

According to KCCA FC, the forward has put pen to paper on a six months contract until the end of the season , having been got as a free agent.

During his previous two- year stint at Lugogo, Kaddu, known for his famous monkey dance scored 32 goals in 64 outings for the Lugogo side and he is expected to add to this tally after return.

“Since I was unattached (to any club) and I had to keep fit, I had to get a team and I chose KCCA FC. I know the playing style of the team and what it needs . If given opportunity (to play) expect more goals from me,”Kaddu said during an interview with KCCA FC TV after return.

Kaddu now joins Erisa Ssekisambu who also returned to the 13-time Uganda Premier League champions for the second stint after running down his contract with Malta side Tarxien Rainbows and returns to Lugogo as a free agent.

Having signed a six months contract, the former URA and Gor Mahia forward will now compete for playing time with Patrick Kaddu, Davis Kasirye, Sadat Anaku, Charles Lwanga and Brian Aheebwa in Morley Byekwaso’s team.

KCCA FC currently sit on top of the StarTimes Uganda Premier League log with 31 points, one above second placed Vipers Sports Club ahead of the second round.
