NBS TV moves to change face of comedy industry

NBS television shall starting May this year lead the charge in rebranding and revolutionalising the comedy industry in Uganda.

Dubbed NBS Comic and headlined by Patrick Idiringi aka Salvador, one of the most prominent comedians on the continent, the show will seek to showcase new talent mentored by the big names in the industry.

Joe Kigozi, the chief of strategy at Next Media said NBS TV, was determined to change the face of the industry and to offer a platform to up and coming comedians.

“We are unveiling a new show at the backdrop of what has been happening in the industry. We feel that there is a lot that has been done over the years. Great comedians have come over the years. Salvador is one of the leading not just in Uganda but in Africa. There is a platform that has been missing especially for the upcoming talent. We want to unleash new talent,” Kigozi said.

Salvador said the show is not only about winning the ultimate prize.

“The final will have top three. This three will have an opportunity to sell themselves to the people. The winner is going to be chosen by the public. The winner is not only going to get a car or cash but a one year contract to have a show on NBS TV,” he said.

Auditions for those will believe they have talent will This will be preceded by auditions on 18th – 19th April.
