Jennifer Musisi hosts Ghetto Kids at City Hall
On Tuesday, they presented Musisi with a plaque as a sign of appreciation.
"I am happy for these young people who not only entertain but also promote the country outside through their talent," Musisi said.
She said they are good ambassadors of Uganda who need to be appreciated for the good job. "We are proud of them."
The founder of the triplets group, Dauda Kavuma, who also doubles as their manager said through music, these kids are catered for as well as paying for their school fees.
"Some of them don't have parents whereas others with them (parents) cannot afford to look after them. Therefore, through music, these kids can afford a living," he said.
The group, according to Kavuma is set to return to US to grace the AFRIMMA awards later this month.
The Ghetto Kids hit a new high by becoming the first Ugandan performers to take the stage at the Black Entertainment Television (BET) Awards this year when they danced to American superstar French Montana’s ‘Unforgettable’.
The visit to City Hall was part of the preparations for the forthcoming Kampala City Festival set for October 6th.
Tanzanian singer, Diamond Platinumz will be the guest artiste at the festival whose proceeds will go into refurbishing KCCA schools around the city.
The festival has attracted many funders including NBS TV, one of the leading TV stations inn the country.
